Trustwell Living has begun an extensive remodel and renovation project at its 67-unit senior living community in Springfield. Trustwell Living acquired the property located at 2451 W. White Oaks Dr., which formerly operated as Bickford of Springfield, in May 2022.
Trustwell Living is a senior living operating company based in New York City that was launched in 2021 by senior housing veteran Lawrence Cohen and a team of former colleagues. At the time of the Springfield acquisition, the company had announced plans to make significant capital improvements.
As part of the $1.6 million project, resident apartments and common areas will be upgraded and 16 memory units will be created.
“This project will give the community a new look and we will expand our service line to include the addition of memory care services later this year,” said Gary Fernandez, a company spokesperson.
Illinois Design Solutions is serving as the general contractor and Pulse Design Group, based in Kansas City, Missouri, is the architectural firm. The anticipated completion date for the project is Nov. 15.
