Feeling so hungry that you’re getting hangry? Hanger Management is coming to White Oaks Mall, opening Saturday, May 13, in the food court space formerly occupied by Jerk Shop Go.

“This is my first physical location,” said owner and head chef Keah Garner, who has operated Hanger Management and Catering since 2018. She said she moved to Springfield, her wife’s hometown, after graduating from L’École Culinaire in St. Louis and worked at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant before launching her catering company.

“I think this is a natural transition,” Garner said of opening a physical location. “My catering was doing well, and now I want more of an area to be able to expand my brand to a larger population.”

She describes her menu as “fun food that tastes good. I like to take comfort food from different backgrounds and elevate it, put a twist on it.”

Entrees include bacon cheeseburger eggrolls, chicken wings tossed in brown sugar and soy sticky sauce, bourbon chicken and sweet potato wraps, and Philly sandwiches made with bourbon chicken and Hawaiian bread. Collard green wontons, fried rice, sweet potato fries and salads will be offered as side dishes.

While Garner said her goal is to eventually be open seven days a week, she will initially have a pop-up location on the weekends. Operating hours will be Friday 4-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m.
