Mayoral forum planned for Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 5:30-7 p.m.

This spring, city elections will be held for several offices, including mayor of Springfield. Two candidates, incumbent Mayor James Langfelder and City Treasurer Misty Buscher, are seeking the top city post.

Springfield Business Journal and Illinois Times are partnering with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and Mid-West Family Springfield to host a mayoral forum at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.   Moderator Bernie Schoenburg, former journalist for the State Journal-Register, will present questions to find out how the candidates, if elected, will make Springfield a better place to do business and move Springfield forward.

This event is complimentary and open to the general public. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. RSVPs are not needed to attend.

Potential questions for the candidates may be submitted in advance by emailing [email protected].
