A free informational session on the first steps people can take to become a court reporter will be held Sept. 14 at the Illinois Comptroller’s Office, 325 W. Adams St., Springfield.

The two-hour session, conducted by the state’s Court Reporting Services office, will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Registration is required and can be completed online at ilcrs.com/register. More information is provided during the registration process. Questions can be sent to stenoschool@gmail.com. The recruitment section of Court Reporting Services’ website is ilcrs.com/firststeps.

Court Reporting Services’ Facebook page says court reporting and captioning jobs are in high demand.
