Firehouse Subs returning to Springfield

Firehouse Subs is returning to Springfield after a four-year absence. The restaurant operated at 4151 W. Wabash Ave. from 2012-2018 and is now preparing to reopen in the same location.

The new owner/operator, Larry Webb, is a U.S. Army veteran and longtime franchisee with the company. In addition to Springfield, Webb owns Firehouse Subs locations in Quincy and St. Charles, Missouri.

“Overall, we're excited to be reopening in Springfield and further growing in Illinois,” said Erin Neves, a company spokesperson. “Currently, we're in the midst of updating the restaurant internally -- from décor to updated technology at the register -- to ensure our both new and returning guests have the latest and greatest that Firehouse Subs is offering.”

Firehouse Subs has more than 1,200 locations nationwide, including restaurants in Bloomington and Peoria. A portion of every purchase goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides funding and equipment to first responders.
