Jarred McCormick has joined Knob Hill Landscape Company as the director of business development.

Owner Landon Kirby noted, “Jarred is a positive, forward-thinking, process-oriented addition to the Knob Hill team and brings a wealth of expertise as a former general construction/renovation professional, specializing in deck design, landscaping and gardening.”

McCormick also has extensive experience in the restaurant industry and operated McCormick’s Smokehouse Restaurant in The Gables for more than 10 years before closing that location in December 2018 and restructuring the family-run business to focus on catering. He opened the original McCorcmick’s Deli in downtown Springfield in 1994 before relocating to the west side and expanding to a sit-down restaurant with a more extensive menu and catering options.

Kirby said that McCormick’s food service experience will also serve him well in his new role. “As the president of JDM Foods, Inc./dba McCormick’s Smokehouse & Catering, he built strong, lasting, strategic partnerships, managed multiple direct project and event initiatives, as well as managing, training and coordinating numerous employees at different sites. Defining timelines and budgets, negotiating pricing and serving as the primary point of contact for communications are just some of the talents Jarred brings to the table.”

Knob Hill Landscape Company, 661 W. Camp Sangamo Road, offers outdoor living fixtures, patios, hardscapes, natural stonework features and general landscaping services.
