Pella Windows & Doors purchases building on West Wabash

Pella Windows & Doors of Springfield will soon be moving to a new, larger showroom.

Mike Marry, who has owned the Springfield franchise since 1996, along with the locations in Champaign and Evansville, Indiana, said, “We’re making a big commitment to our future there in Springfield. The contractors and homeowners in that area have been good to us over the years.”

On Sept. 17, Marry purchased 4330 W. Wabash Ave. The front half of the building formerly housed Culligan Water of Springfield. Marry said he liked the fact that other home improvement businesses were located nearby, including Pleasant Nursery and Dick van Dyke Appliance World.

Pella Windows & Doors is currently located in The Yard Shopping Center, 1650 Wabash Ave., Suite J. “We’ve been there for 20 years,” Marry said. “But we have a new showroom design from Pella corporate, so we need a little more space. The idea of the new showroom is to help homeowners make their choices in a better environment.”

Due to the uncertainly in the construction industry, Marry said it’s hard to schedule a firm date for moving into the new showroom. “In these times, with construction and materials, you don’t know how long it will take. We’d like to do it by the end of the year, but we’ll have to see how it all comes together,” he said.
