Brad Leonard is returning to his roots at Bank of Springfield, this time to help launch a property and casualty insurance division.
“It was a natural fit to come back to BOS; this is where I started my career after college,” said Leonard. “They put me through the management training program when I was younger.”
Most recently, Leonard was an insurance adviser with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., formerly Nicoud Insurance Service. Leonard said that the company had “great management and great people,” but noted that following the merger with Gallagher, “they encouraged us to travel and get after the behemoths in the industry. What fit my clientele and customer base was more local, and I didn’t want to lose the personal touch with my friends and family in the community.”
Jason Knoedler, senior vice president for BOS, said, “It’s really exciting for us to have Brad back under our roof. We think property and casualty will be a good complimentary business to help meet our customers’ needs.”
While BOS has had a benefits department for more than 15 years, the company will now start offering property and casualty insurance. “There’s a good team there, I was familiar with them before I left,” said Leonard, “and now I’m bringing over my expertise on the property and casualty side.” He noted that BOS will also offer worker’s comp and cyber risk insurance, two growing areas.
Denise Bourlard, a customer service manager who previously worked with Leonard, has also joined BOS. “We’ll be looking for other talent as well, so that we can eventually have a presence in all of the other communities that BOS serves,” he said.
