After working as a registered nurse for the past 10 years, Elizabeth Yarnell has now started her own business to help people improve their overall well-being.

Thrive Wellness Therapy provides on-demand IV hydration therapy and vitamin injections, intended to help with everything from skin care to workout recovery to immune system boosting.

“My husband and I saw this service in Las Vegas a few years ago, and I thought it would be a great idea to bring it to Springfield,” said Yarnell, noting that nearby cities such as St. Louis and Chicago also offer similar services. “Those big cities tend to promote it as a hangover cure, but that’s a small piece of the business. It’s more about overall health and wellness.”

Yarnell offers six different therapy options, plus boosters of vitamins C, D or B12. However, she notes that potential clients are screened for underlying health conditions and encouraged to consult a medical provider if needed.

“This is not going to replace medical advice; it’s intended for healthy adults that need hydration to get energy,” she said.

The business officially launched on July 3 with a team of seven registered nurses who travel to the client’s home or office to provide treatment.
