Springfield’s newest Starbucks Coffee Company, at the northeast corner of South Dirksen Parkway and Stevenson Drive, opens for business today. It is the sixth freestanding Starbucks location in Springfield, in addition to a location inside Target and on the University of Illinois Springfield campus. The new Starbucks is smaller in size than previously built locations, with the primary focus on drive-thru business.
ComptonAddy, a commercial real estate firm based in Cincinnati, Ohio, developed the parcel at 3190 S. Dirksen Parkway. According to Sangamon County tax records, the parcel was sold on Dec. 4, 2020 for $725,000.
Midwest Facilities & Construction, based out of Hinckley, Illinois, was the general contractor with MJM Architects serving as the project architect. Springfield-based Henson Robinson Company was the roofing contractor.
