Lisa Peterson has joined Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission

Lisa Peterson has been hired by the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission as a senior planner for policy analysis. She will start her new position on June 14.

“I created the position a couple of years ago, but it’s never been filled,” said Molly Berns, executive director of the SSCRP. “I’m pretty excited for when these census numbers come out and we can start looking at the demographic data for Sangamon County,” she said, explaining that part of Peterson’s role will be to look at the effect the census data has had on the community.

“Lisa will also be responsible for updating a number of the publications that we have here at the Commission, providing a more detailed analysis and updating the information as needed so we can make that available to the public,” said Berns.

Peterson has served as the business projects manager for the City of Springfield since 2018, overseeing the Enterprise Zone program. She holds an MBA from Bradley University.
