Barcom Security, a Swansea-based company that is expanding its reach, has opened a Springfield office at 386 S. Koke Mill Road. The company provides residential, small business, commercial and enterprise security systems.

Last November, Marc Camp was hired as the new central Illinois business development manager for the company. “Barcom Security was founded back in 1976, so they’ve been around for a while. It’s still family owned and operated,” said Camp. “They’ve been very successful in the St. Louis and southern Illinois area.”

Camp said he was hired to help the company expand their reach and will cover a territory that stretches from Quincy to Danville. “Security is a booming industry right now; it’s growing rapidly, and central Illinois seemed like the next logical step.”

While Barcom Security already had technicians working in the Springfield area to service clients here, Camp said having a physical presence will allow the company to further expand.
