Marc Camp is the new central Illinois business development manager for Barcom Security, a Swansea-based company that is expanding its reach. The company provides residential, small business, commercial and enterprise security systems
“Barcom Security was founded back in 1976, so they’ve been around for a while. It’s still family owned and operated,” said Camp. “They’ve been very successful in the St. Louis and southern Illinois area.”
Camp said he was hired to help the company expand their reach and will cover a territory that stretches from Quincy to Danville. “Security is a booming industry right now; it’s growing rapidly, and central Illinois seemed like the next logical step.”
Barcom Security plans to open a satellite office in Springfield and currently has a building on the west side under contract. According to Camp, there are already a couple of technicians who work in the Springfield area to service clients here.
“Without having a permanent person in the area, they haven’t been able to grow it,” he said. “We will have a physical presence by the end of December.”
Prior to starting his new position, Camp most recently worked as the development manager for Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County.
