Forefront, a nonprofit that provides resources, training and support for other nonprofit organizations, is offering a free webinar on “Collaborative activism and Black economics” on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
One of the long-standing effects of institutional racism in the United States has been a challenging economic outlook for the Black community. This webinar will explore how today’s collaborative approach to activism might prove to be a defining moment in turning the tide for Black economic futures and what roles we can play to ensure positive change.
The presenter is Dominic Watson, president of the Springfield Black Chamber of Commerce and labor lobbyist for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Watson has spent more than a decade emphasizing the importance of revitalizing the community through economic empowerment and civic engagement.
