Twyford BBQ & Catering is ending operations in central Illinois and moving the business to Puerto Rico. In a Facebook post, owner Randy Twyford said that as of Sept. 17 he finalized an opportunity that he has been “diligently pursuing” for the past year to relocate to Playa Jobos, Isabella, Puerto Rico.

Twyford cited “the current state of economic affairs in Illinois” as well as “the invasion of wind turbines in Eastern Morgan County that will be built as part of the Lincoln Land Wind project,” as reasons for the move. The business is based in Jacksonville, where Twyford also lives, although the food truck travels to Springfield and surrounding areas.

The food truck will be in Jacksonville on Wednesday, Beardstown on Thursday and Springfield on Friday for the last week of local operations. Online ordering is no longer available.
