Chiro One, a company that provides chiropractic care at more than 50 offices in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, is opening its first Springfield location. Based in Oak Park, Illinois, Chiro One operates multiple “wellness centers” in the Chicago area and also has locations in Peoria and Bloomington. Founded in 2007 by chiropractor Stuart Bernsen, the idea was to create a retail health care model by partnering with other chiropractors to provide standardized care.

Mid America Real Estate, which owns the location at 3409 Freedom Dr. in the Parkway Pointe Shopping Center previously occupied by Dressbarn, is now renovating the space to accommodate new tenant Chiro One, according to building permits filed with the City of Springfield. Representatives from Chiro One did not respond to requests for comment regarding a projected opening date.
