A kids’ entertainment complex opens

Bounce Tag, a kids’ entertainment complex that includes bounce houses, an obstacle course, laser tag and an arcade, is opening on Dec. 21. Dr. Tubosun Dennis, a local anesthesiologist, and her mother, Tola Danmole-Odimayo, are the co-owners of the new business.

The building at 3720 Hollis Dr. in Springfield has been extensively renovated since it housed Midstate Gymnastics Academy, and business manager Nicole Edwards described it as a “huge undertaking.” The space now includes a 5500-square-foot obstacle course, a toddler play area, laser tag and a four-story climbing gym on the east side of the building.

Edwards said the upper level will have “adult space” where parents can watch their children play without having to be in the middle of the action. “And really good coffee for moms, that’s important!” The new business has also partnered with Turbo Fire Pizza to provide concessions.

Edwards said one of the goals is to make the space available for fundraising events, as well as for companies who may want to use it for team-building outings.

She said the idea for the concept came about when Dennis struggled to find fun activities for her own son after the family relocated from Nashville.

“I really think it’s going to serve a need here, and I think the hope to franchise is definitely there. We’d like to expand it eventually,” said Edwards.
