Brokaw joined Giffin, Winning, Cohen & Bodewes in 2014 as an associate attorney. He concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal and local government law and civil appeals. As part of his local government practice, he has been appointed as both special prosecutor and special assistant state’s attorney. He has also served as a hearing officer in administrative adjudications of ordinance violations for multiple municipalities and represented local government electoral boards in hearing objections to petitions of candidacy.
Brokaw began his career as an attorney as assistant corporation counsel for the City of Springfield where he was involved in several areas of practice related to local government. Prior to practicing law, Brokaw served as a legislative analyst for the Illinois House of Representatives.
Trapp has been with Giffin Winning Cohen & Bodewes since 2014 and concentrates his practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, general civil litigation, local government law and business advising.
Prior to joining the firm, Brokaw served as a law clerk in the Illinois Appellate Court for the Fourth District for seven years and also clerked for the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. In 2016, he was selected for Springfield Business Journal’s Forty Under 40.
