The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln has hired Marcia Short as its new full-time executive assistant. Her responsibilities include managing the office, meeting and event planning, data entry and supporting the work of the president and CEO.
“I have lived my entire life in central Illinois in Logan, Morgan and Sangamon counties. I am excited to be part of an organization that has such a positive impact on the people and communities where I have called home,” Short said.
Short came to the Community Foundation after three decades at Illinois College in Jacksonville in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations. She began her professional career at her alma mater as an admission counselor and spent the majority of her career in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
Short graduated from Illinois College and has lived in Springfield for more than 25 years. She has volunteered at the Illinois State Fair, Downtown Springfield, Inc., and the Springfield Area Arts Council.
