Memorial Medical Center will hold four sessions of its free program designed to help students and community members learn more about health care careers.

The Hands-On Healthcare program meets at least monthly. The next sessions are medical imaging, 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 28; perioperative services, 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 11; medical education, 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 14; and nursing, 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 13. Registration for each class opens 30 days before the class date, with a limit of 40 participants per session.

Except for the medical education session, all classes will be held in Room 2B of the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation, 228 W. Miller St. The medical education class will be held at SIU School of Medicine, 801 N. Rutledge St.

Hands-On Healthcare launched in September 2017 and is offered in partnership with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. A confirmation email will include documents that require a parent’s or guardian’s signature if the participant is 18 years old or younger.
