Harry Schmidt joins O'Shea Builders

O’Shea Builders has hired Harry Schmidt as director of business strategies.

Schmidt comes to O’Shea from Memorial Health System, where he worked for 12 years, most recently as CEO of Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. During his career at Memorial, he was manager of information technology customer support and served as vice president of facilities management.

Prior to joining Memorial, Schmidt served for 20 years as a professional military officer, rising to the ranks of Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and Major in the U.S. Air Force. In this capacity, he was a leader in logistics and operations planning, ultimately serving as a training officer at TOPGUN Navy Fighter Weapons School, for which he was responsible for the safety and training of the Navy’s top five percent of fighter pilots.

Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s in business administration from Washington University.

Founded in 1900, O’Shea Builders is a commercial construction company with offices in Springfield, Champaign and East Peoria.
