Garren Burton is the new director of operations and practice administrator at Prairie Eye and LASIK Center and Prairie Spa. He will be based out of the main office in Springfield, overseeing all 10 offices throughout central Illinois.

Most recently, Burton served as the senior practice manager for The LASIK Vision Institute in Austin, Texas, where he worked for 11 years before being recruited to come to Springfield.

In his new role, Burton said one of his main goals is to promote the wide variety of specialty services offered at Prairie Eye and increase the LASIK clientele. He also plans to focus on growing the Prairie Spa side of the business.

“Our spa has been in existence for about two years, but patients don’t necessarily know that we have a spa,” Burton said, noting that the spa has a medical doctor on staff to offer procedures such as Botox, laser treatments and CoolSculpting, in addition to more traditional spa services such as massages and facials.

“We’re a different type of practice because we have a spa attached to medical practice,” he explained.
