Students from the Sangamon CEO program are hosting an annual “Shark Tank”-style event, which will allow the 42 high school seniors interested in entrepreneurship to pitch their business ideas to local investors. “CEO vs. Sharks” will take place on Friday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Illinois Springfield in the Student Union.
Each team will have four minutes to pitch a business idea to a panel of judges who will provide feedback and score the participants on the viability and creativity of their business concept, as well as the quality of their presentation. In the final round, 12 businesses will compete for the top three prizes and other recognitions.
The event is open to the public and tickets are available for $10 here.
In addition, the students will host a “Startup & Innovation Expo” in the lower level of the Public Affairs Center at UIS from 1-5 p.m. No ticket purchase is necessary to attend the expo.
