Todd Green acquires hotel management group

Todd Green, owner of the Green Family Stores automobile dealership group in Springfield and Jacksonville, has acquired a majority interest in the hospitality management company formerly known as Portfolio Hotels & Resorts, Inc.  The company is now known as Core Hotels & Resorts Green (CHRG).

The $242 million acquisition includes 15 hotels in seven states, ranging from Monterey, California to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Chad Lund, CEO and partner of CHRG, will manage all employees and properties, while Green will serve as chairman of the board.

In a written statement, Green said he feels his experience in the automotive industry can carry over to the hospitality business.

“There is one thing I have learned in the last 36 years in the automobile business in Springfield.  It’s all about taking care of the customer.  I’m confident we can translate that knowledge and the same level of guest service to our hotels.”
