Jamison joins Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation

Kristin Van Aken Jamison, a Jacksonville native with experience in the fields of communications and development, has recently joined the staff of the Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation (JREDC). Jamison is now the JREDC vice president of marketing and communications, effective Jan. 2. She joins vice president of operations Bonni Waters.

“Directors of the JREDC board are familiar with Kristin’s work at Illinois College, The Source newspaper and nonprofits throughout the Jacksonville community,” said JREDC chair Dusty Douglas. “Kristin’s work ethic and commitment to this region of Illinois will complement Bonni’s years of economic development to form a powerful team for JREDC.”

Prior to joining JREDC, Jamison spent the past 12 years working on the development team at Illinois College, her alma mater. She also worked for then-Illinois state legislator Dan Rutherford as a legislative aide in his Capitol and Pontiac offices.

Jamison and her husband, Adam, opened Jamison’s Future Swings on June 1, 2018, and have since welcomed hundreds of baseball and softball athletes to their facility for instruction.

Active in the community, Jamison has served in volunteer roles with the Jacksonville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Jacksonville Main Street, and the Art Association of Jacksonville, among others.

Douglas concluded, “The JREDC works to expand, retain, create and recruit job opportunities for Morgan and Scott counties. I am confident that Kristin’s background in communications, fundraising and project development will add to the future success of this important organization.”
