Joe Kulek is the new CFO/Executive of Henson Robinson Co., effective Sept. 4. He succeeds Steve Etheridge, who had served in that role for 23 years. “Steve is still with the company and will be phasing out over the coming year,” said Kulek. “The other change is that Brian Vogt, who is currently president of Petersburg Plumbing & Excavating, is going to move into an executive VP role for the Henson Robinson Co., so Brian and I will be working closely together.” Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Henson Robinson Co.
Kulek had previously worked for Sikich LLP since 2004 and been a partner with the firm since 2014. He is a CPA who holds an MBA from University of Illinois Springfield. In July, he was recognized as one of Springfield Business Journal’s Forty Under 40.
“For me, it was a great opportunity to help lead a local company that has been in business for over 150 years with roots here in Springfield; I’m a Springfield guy and this is my hometown and where my family roots are as well. The company has been successful over the years because of the great culture and team that Dan Hoselton (president) and Steve have created here,” said Kulek. “This was a major factor in my decision to join the HRCO team.”
Henson Robinson has been in business since 1861 and specializes in heating, air conditioning, ventilation, roofing, and plumbing for both commercial and residential properties. In 2011, the company acquired Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating. Henson Robinson was named one of Springfield Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in 2016.
