Cavallo Bus Lines, an Illinois-based family owned business with more than 100 charter buses providing service nationwide, has apparently closed their doors. Cavallo was started in Gillespie, Illinois in 1942 and grew to include additional locations in Indianapolis, Indiana and Springfield, Missouri.

A press release issued on Aug. 14 by Timi’s Tours, a tour company that utilized charter buses from Cavallo, stated that they were recently notified that “effective immediately all operations at Cavallo Bus Lines have ceased.” Calls to multiple departments at Cavallo’s headquarters went unanswered.

Several people in management positions with Cavallo have Springfield connections, including Steve Helm, whose LinkedIn profile lists him as the interim CEO as of August 2018. Helm previously spent several years working for H.D. Smith. David Warren, who served as the CEO of Cavallo beginning in May 2016, is also based out of Springfield and previously worked as the CFO of Nudo Products.
