Amy Beadle has been named the new sales manager at the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, effective Sept. 4. She previously worked as the convention sales manager for the CVB until 2011, when she began her current position as the marketing leader for Scheels.
Beadle noted that since she has a long history in the local tourism industry, she has known Scott Dahl, the new CVB executive director, for many years. “I’ve been in this business since 1989, between travel tourism and hospitality. I’ve known Scott since back when he was the general manager at MansionView Inn,” she said.
“I was approached about this opportunity and felt like it was a good time in my life, personally and professionally. Working there before was a great experience, and there’s a need there for sales leadership for conventions and tourism. I’m looking forward to doing some great work for the city, and expanding the conventions and meetings is an extremely important arm of how Springfield survives.”
Beadle said that her current role with Scheels involves handling meetings and catering services, as well as marketing the property as a destination for tourists.
“Leaving is bittersweet, but it’s the right move at the right time,” she said. “This is the next step in my journey to hopefully impact the city and businesses in a positive way.”
