Local First is hosting a workshop for small business owners, Business Management: Challenges, Growth, & Adaptation. It will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. at Sangamon Reclaimed, located at 1315 Otis Street in Springfield.

In 2013, Brian Frieze launched Sangamon Reclaimed after seeing a gap in the market for reclaimed wood and quality handcrafted furniture. What started as a part-time endeavor for this Springfield firefighter is now an award-winning business that serves both the commercial and residential markets throughout the United States. Sangamon Reclaimed began in Brian’s garage just five years ago and now operates in a 16,000 square foot facility formerly owned by Altorfer Caterpillar.

Frieze will share his story of challenge, change and growth over the past five years during a workshop geared towards anyone starting out or in the midst of growing a small business.
