Downtown Springfield, Inc. (DSI) has announced that Kayla Graven has been named program and events manager.

Graven comes to DSI with six years of experience in fund development and event management in the non-profit sector. Previously she served as the fund development manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region and prior to that, as membership coordinator at WSEC/PBS Springfield.  Graven is also the co-founder/writer of the lifestyle blog Blooming in LOL which showcases, through first person narratives, all that the Land of Lincoln has to offer.

Graven has a strong passion for advancing the community through her work in nonprofits and volunteer organizations. She is a member of the Springfield Jaycees and Illinois Women in Leadership, Girls on the Run coach, and recent graduate of Leadership Springfield, where she received their 2018 Community Service Award. In addition, Graven is also one of the youngest Springfield Business Journal “Forty under 40” recipients ever recognized, receiving that honor in 2015.

As program and events manager, Graven will help develop and implement fundable programs and events that increase foot traffic in the downtown district. She brings with her a strong network of relationships and a track record of successful partnerships to help support revitalization efforts.
