Waggener Chiropractic and Wellness Center opens for business in Piper Glen

Waggener Chiropractic and Wellness Center recently opened for business at 7012 Kingsmill Court, in the Piper Glen area. Samantha Mayberry-Waggener, or Dr. Sammy as she’s affectionately called by her patients, is already well-known in the local area.

Originally from Rochester, she attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri before completing an internship in Virginia. “All of my family was here, so I decided to come back after that,” Mayberry-Waggener explained. “I joined a clinic in Chatham that was an existing business and practiced there for a couple of years before deciding it was time to go out on my own.”

In mid-February, Waggener Chiropractic opened in the Piper Glen strip center in a space formerly occupied by a local boutique. In addition to Mayberry-Waggener, the location has two massage therapists offering therapeutic massage and an esthetician.

The business’ Facebook page is filled with photos of cute kids and dogs stopping by the office and Mayberry-Waggener says she specializes in pediatric care and working with pregnant women. “My clients range from newborns all the way up to seniors, but about half my practice is pediatric care,” she said.

Although they have been open for less than two months, the business has already found ways to give back to the local community. They are currently serving as a drop off point to collect gently used tennis shoes for the Chatham Area Special Olympics, and previously collected formal dresses to help support a program run by a Rochester businesswomen’s group.
