The building that has been taking shape at 3820 W. Wabash in Springfield, next to Dick van Dyke Appliance World, will soon be the new home for several different local dental practices.
“We are consolidating three offices in the Springfield area and merging them into one,” explained Leah Zimmerman, the practice manager of operations for Springfield Dental Care.
Montvale Dental Care closed in November of last year and Dr. Rupal Patel and her team moved over to Springfield Dental Care, which currently operates out of a building at 2965 S. MacArthur, with Dr. Stacie Beasley and her staff. Westside Dental Group, located at 2633 Chatham Road, is led by Dr. Rachel Reeves. However, all three dentists will be combining their practices into the new 6,000 square foot building that is currently under construction on West Wabash. Zimmerman said that having multiple dentists working at the same location will enable the practice to offer patients early and late hours.
While the new location will be known as Springfield Dental Care, it will be operating under the umbrella of Heartland Dental Care, a company based out of Effingham that provides support services to more than 800 practices throughout the United States.
“We allow the dentists to focus on their clinical work and make their patients the number one focus,” said Zimmerman. “We have our business team that focuses on the business side of the practice to make sure that everything is running effectively. Each office has a practice manager of operations to help insure the office runs smoothly.”
The general contractor for the new facility is Jacobs Group, which has experience in building dental and medical offices, including Dental Care at Prairie Crossing. The Wabash project is scheduled for completion by June 28. “There have been a few days they haven’t been able to work out there due to the weather, but they’re doing an amazing job, so we’re hoping everything is still on track,” said Zimmerman.
