Omar’s Latin Fusion Cuisine, located at 6901 Preston Drive in Springfield, has closed. The restaurant in Piper Glen previously operated as Xochimilco until spring 2015 when it became Omar’s. A message posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page on January 22 thanked their friends and customers and stated they were permanently closed.
The owner, Omar Hernandez, also owns and operates La Fiesta on Stevenson Drive. Hernandez, who used to work for the previous owners of La Fiesta, purchased the building and remodeled it before reopening the restaurant last June. The La Fiesta location remains in operation.
