Springfield Business Journal and United Community Bank have announced the recipients of the 2018 “Best Places to Work.” Midwest Family Broadcasting, Resource One and Staab Funeral Home are being honored with awards this year, and Lincoln Land Community College and Orthopedic Center of Illinois, both prior recipients, are receiving awards in the alumni category.

To be considered, a business must be located in either Sangamon or Morgan county, have 16 or more employees, and have been in business for at least two years. A selection committee chooses the winners from nominations submitted by employees about why their company is a great place to work.

The recipients will be honored at a reception and awards ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the United Community Bank location at 1900 West Iles Ave. in Springfield.
