Perten Instruments to move into former Blue Cross Blue Shield building

Perten Instruments, a leading supplier of analytical instruments to the food and agricultural industries, will be relocating their Springfield office to a new location.

The global health innovator will relocate from their current Springfield office at 6444 S. Sixth St. Frontage Road into the lower level of the former Blue Cross Blue Shield building at 3200 Robbins Road. On Oct. 3, the City of Springfield approved a construction permit for the new office, which will feature both storage and assembly space. The project’s contactor is Brad Milliman, Inc., and the work is valued at $300,000.

Perten Instruments, which is now part of PerkinElmer Inc., was founded in 1962. The company creates instruments that allow for total quality control of grains, flours, feed and food, such as analyzers, dividers, moisture meters, cell counters, gluten testing products and more. Perten Instruments is headquartered out of Stockholm, Sweden, and their staff of nearly 9,000 employees worldwide serves a customer base that includes large companies, smaller specialized operations and supporting research institutions in more than 100 countries.
