Quorum Consulting Group purchased accounting and wealth management firm Bird Armour earlier this year, with the two Springfield-based companies joining offices this month.

Don Wienhoff, owner of Quorum, says his company has practiced third-party pension administration for 24 years, but it more recently began offering accounting services. Wienhoff says he knew of Bird Armour, formerly owned by Michael Armour, and wanted to bring in the firm’s expertise.

“It was just a perfect fit – the right time and the right place,” Wienhoff said.

The acquisition was effective Jan. 1 of this year, according to Wienhoff, but the two offices continued to work at separate locations. Recently, however, both offices moved to a new location at 4440 Ash Grove. Quorum had previously been located at 3101 Greenhead Dr., while Bird Armour was previously at 1307 S. Seventh St.

Wienhoff says all employees were retained in the acquisition, and he hopes to add more employees to his existing headcount of 17.
