West Iles Business Center gets green light - Building permit roundup

WIBC, Inc. of Springfield is building a new retail center at 3240 W. Iles Ave.

To be located west of Illini Bank on West Iles, the facility will be called the West Iles Business Center. A permit for the project was granted by the City of Springfield Building and Zoning division on June 2.

Ben Call, part owner of WIBC and a Realtor with The Rick Hanselman Team, says the project will consist of two buildings: a 15,500-square-foot retail strip and a standalone retail space of around 3,000 square feet. Call couldn't disclose the prospective tenants yet, but he said foundation footings are being laid this week, and he hopes for occupancy some time in October.

BBC Construction Management and Henson Robinson are the contractors. The project's valuation is $994,283.

Other permits recently approved by the City of Springfield include the following:

-Car Wash City is building an addition to its existing facility at 3140 s. Sixth St., increasing the facility size from almost 5,400 square feet to more than 7,300 square feet. Bob Goeckner and Seth Molen are the contractors. The project valuation is $240,000.

-Ryan Homes and Development Inc. obtained an erosion control permit for a planned 6250-square-foot retail center called Hedley Plaza at 3141 Hedley Road.

-BAPT Holdings LLC obtained a permit to remodel the building at 2201 W. White Oaks Dr. for BAPT Health & Wellness Center. The contractors for the project are Mohn Custom Interiors and Buraski Builders.

-A permit was granted for renovations at 323 E. Monroe St., owned by Starne-Moran LLC. Details on the project were not immediately available, but the permit calls for installing cabinets, countertops and flooring, building a new wall and painting. The contractors are Landers Construction and J. Ellis Plumbing. The space most recently held Springfield Right to Life.

-Trailhead Healing Arts Center LLC obtained a permit to remodel the Trailhead Center For Yoga and Ayurveda at 801 South Grand Avenue West. The contractor is Greg Krutsinger Construction, and the architect is Melotte Morse Leonatti Parker, Ltd.
