Hedley Plaza permit approved - Building permit roundup

A new retail strip center slated for construction on Springfield's west side received a building permit this week.

Hedley Plaza, to be located at 3141 Hedley Road, will have five tenant spaces. The development is a project of Ryan Homes and Development Inc. of Springfield. The company couldn't be reached for details, but a web page devoted to the project shows one tenant space devoted to JoJo's, a restaurant with

The City of Springfield Building and Zoning department granted the project a permit to lay the foundation on June 26. Another permit for the project which is pending city approval says the retail center will be 6,250 square feet.

The architect for the project is Evan Lloyd Architects. The contractor is Ryan Homes and Development Inc.

Other permits approved by the city in the past week include the following:

Nickell Properties obtained a permit to install a six-kilowatt solar array on the building at 118 S. Fourth St. The project valuation is $19,453, and the contractor is WindSolar USA Inc.

HSHS St. John's Hospital obtained a permit to begin construction of a new healthcare facility at 400 N. Ninth St. The hospital broke ground on the project on June 27.

Seritage SRC Properties obtained a permit to remodel the shell of the building at 2490 Wabash Ave., which will house the future Binny's Beverage Depot. The contractor is W.D.S. Construction, Inc.

Jay Patel obtained a permit to remodel Microtel Inn & Suites at 2636 Sunrise Dr. The project includes relocating the breakfast bar, installing a new door for the breakfast room and build a new vending area. The contractor is Streder Mechanical Service.

Solon LLC obtained a permit to remodel the interior of Great Clips salon at 3820 Octavus Via. The contractor is Joyner Construction Services.

Fred Wanless Trust obtained a permit to remodel 406 E. Monroe St., which houses the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The remodel encompasses the first through fifth floors. The contractor is Bob Ferry.

Larson Real Estate LLC obtained a permit for interior non-structural demolition at 3236 Ginger Creek Dr. The site will hold a restaurant which obtained a zoning variance from the Springfield City Council last week. The contractor for the project is John Brewer Builders LLC.
