St. John’s to start ICU remodel – Building permit roundup

HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield is slated to begin a remodel of its intensive care unit.

The hospital obtained a building permit from the City of Springfield Building and Zoning department last week for the $5.9-million project. O’Shea Builders of Springfield is the contractor. Details on when construction begins weren’t immediately available.

Other projects for which permits have been issued recently:

Solon LLC obtained a permit to remodel the Verizon store at 3804 Octavus Via. The contractor is Joyner Construction Services.

Corky Joyner obtained a plumbing permit for a remodel of Gulden’s Nail Spa, 2306 Wabash Ave. The contractor is Wilkin Plumbing.

James Hamilton obtained a plumbing permit to connect a sink and ice maker in the building at 219 S. Fifth St. Hamilton couldn’t be reached for details, but it appears work is being done inside to prepare the space for a bar or restaurant. The contractor is Allied Plumbing & Heating.
