Men’s clothing retailer Bachrach is closing its location at White Oaks Mall in Springfield.

The closure comes as the company seeks bankruptcy restructuring.

Bradley Lipman, director of planning and allocation at Bachrach, says the Springfield location employs five to 10 people and will likely be closed in about three months. Lipman said about 13 Bachrach stores nationwide are slated for closure.

“We’re shutting a bunch of stores,” he said.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization on April 28 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Despite the closure, Nicholas Strause, general manager of White Oaks Mall, remains optimistic.

“Any changes in the marketplace offer White Oaks Mall opportunities to add fresh and relevant new retail, dining and entertainment options that will serve the community,” he said.
