A new restaurant serving breakfast all day opened this week on Springfield's west side.
Nico Scaduto opened Nico's Homestyle on March 27 at 751 S. Durkin Drive, offering traditional diner fare and all-day breakfast.
Manager Hailey Hurst says Scaduto opened the restaurant after a poor restaurant experience last year on Father's Day.
"We thought opening our own place would be fun and enjoyable," Hurst said. "It's been everything we hoped for so far."
Hurst says business has been strong so far.
"We think we've got a great location," she said.
The site formerly housed the popular Palermo's Sicilian Cucina, which closed last year and later reopened at a different site as Palermo's Take-Out & Catering.
