After six years in business at 4151 W. Jefferson, German-Bliss Equipment has announced plans to close the location on Wednesday, August 31. The agricultural equipment specialists cited “economic conditions” as the reason for the closing.

“This has been a very difficult decision as it affects both our customers and employees in that area,” the company said in a statement on its website, which also takes care to note that the German-Bliss facilities in Princeville and East Peoria will not be affected. “We will continue to provide an exceptional customer experience at those locations,” the statement continued. All coupons and discounts that have been extended to Springfield branch customers will continue to be honored at the other dealerships. Staff will remain at the Springfield branch to handle all questions and concerns. The location will be liquidating their parts and equipment through the end of business on August 31 offering “large discounts” on in-stock items.

“We appreciate all of the support that we have received at our Springfield location since 2010 and look forward to continue to support those customer relationships to the best of our ability,” the statement concluded.
