Springfield Business Journal moves downtown

In July, Springfield Business Journal moved downtown from the offices it formerly shared with Illinois Times at 1240 S. Sixth St. (both publications are under the umbrella of Central Illinois Publications). The new offices are located on the premises of Your Corner Office, 427 E. Monroe, Suite 200, which offers both co-working space and affordable private office space.

“When Fletcher Farrar initially purchased the Business Journal, it made sense for us to be in the same building as Illinois Times because we shared some administrative Michelle Higginbotham functions and back office support,” said SBJ associate publisher Michelle Higginbotham. “However, as both publications have grown over the last few years, it was getting to be a bit crowded - it seemed like it was time for us to have our own location and a stronger identity.”

Springfield Business Journal has been part of the local market for more than two decades, Higginbotham noted. “We feel like our best years are still ahead of us. In fact, we’re planning to have a 21st birthday party for the Business Journal in October, which will also be a chance for people to stop by and see our new location.”
